SIDDHAGIRI WAX MUSEUM

A unique project, perhaps the only project in India situated at Shri Kshetra Siddhagiri Math, Kaneri, Tal. Karveer, Dist. Kolhapur. The place is near Kolhapur city on Pune Banglore Highway.  Shri Kshetra Siddhagiri Math has a history of more than 1000 years, and is a holy place of worship of Lord Mahadeva. The surrounding around the museum is very calm and quiet, a hilly place with a good collection of Flora and Fauna.

The project is a dream village of Mahatma Gandhi, visually and symbolically created through the vision and efforts of present 27th Mathadhipati H.H.  Adrushya Kadsiddheshwar Swamiji. The main objective of the Project is to refresh the history of self sufficient village life before the invasion of Mughals in Maharashtra. There were 12 BALUTEDARS (12 main profession based casts i.e. Professions performed by generation by family members) and 18 ALUTEDARS, who provided equipments to all villagers useful in their day-to-day necessities of domestic as well as Agricultural life.

These Balutedars, Alutedars and others had a special characteristics with which they served society. The description of all 18 Alutedars, 12 balutedars and other people and there duties are vividly depicted in the museum.
The first phase of the museum spans over 7 Acres of area with almost 80 main scenes and around 300 statues. Several subtle village lifestyles are taken into consideration. There is a unique combination of expression, accuracy and liveliness in the whole village. Each sculpture has a multi dimensional effect and lifestyle theme which Swamiji very keenly arranged each and every scene to make a proper visual story. In the total cluster the village demonstrate a self sufficient machinery within village. Barter economy, Interpersonal healthy happy relationship among villagers is reflected. The Museum projects the entire village as a single family, and as single family members in a joint family. No adulteration, no cut thought practice, no mad Rat Race, No pollution, but Caring, and delightful atmosphere, no bitter feeling, but fertile land, clean water, clean air, quality food, maximum use of natural resources, cattle field, livestock, job satisfaction. All these things are reflecting the beauty, Joy, satisfaction of human race and oneness with nature. It advises us to get back to nature, without disturbing the equilibrium of nature and many other things which are beyond our imagination

Hindu Concept of the Beginning and End of Universe

via youtube.com

Hindus believe in cycle of times. This is the only religion that has survived the millenia. Greeks, Egyptians, Sumerians are also ancient civilizations but have not survived. Vedic religion has survived intact with its ancient language still alive albeit understood by a tiny minority.
All ancient cultures shared a lot of things in common. Ancient Indians knew how to make ships (the word navy is derived from “Navagatha”), weapons, aircrafts etc.

What Every American Needs To Know About Jihad & Terrorism

The LONG TERM goal of jihad is world domination – a global Islamic state under Islamic law.

Jihad is not, as some Western apologists claim, simply a striving for individual perfection. Rather, jihad is an expansionist totalitarian ideology that seeks to establish a global Islamic state ruled by Islamic law, or sharia. Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden’s chief henchman said in the summer of 2006: “Jihad seeks the liberation of Palestine, the entire country of Palestine and to liberate every land that used to be a territory of Islam, from Spain to Iraq.”

The jihad’s IMMEDIATE Objective is “Death to America.

America,” declared Al-Qaeda spokesman Suleiman Abu Gheith, “is the head of heresy in our modern world, and [as a result] . . . we have the right to kill 4 million Americans — 2 million of them children — and to exile twice as many and wound and cripple hundreds of thousands. Furthermore, it is our right to fight them with chemical and biological weapons.” The Saudi Sheikh Nasser ibn Hamed gives an even higher figure for appropriate American deaths: “If a bomb was dropped on them [i.e. the Americans] that would annihilate 10 million and burn their lands to the same extent that they burned the Muslim lands – this is permissible….” Jihad demands the killing of “infidels” or their subjugation under Islamic law.

Since the time of the Prophet Muhammad jihad has offered three choices to the non-Muslim: conversion to Islam, submission under Islamic rule, or death. One manual of Islamic law states that if “the infidels” do not convert, “it is then incumbent on the Muslims to call upon God for assistance, and to make war upon them.”

The jihad kills women.

Jihadis believe, among other things, that women are inferior to men, and must be ruled by them; that a son’s inheritance should be twice the size of that of a daughter; that a husband should beat a disobedient wife; that adulterous or lewd women can be eliminated in “honor killings.”.

Jihad calls for the extermination of the Jews.In a Friday sermon in Gaza that was broadcast live on official Palestinian Authority television, Sheikh Ahmad Abu Halabiya summed up jihadis’ attitudes toward the Jews: “Have no mercy on [them], no matter where they are, in any country. Fight them, wherever you are. Wherever you meet them, kill them. Wherever you are, kill those Jews and those Americans who are like them…”

Hassan Nasrallah, leader of Hizballah, takes the anti Semitism of jihad a step further, calling Jews “grandsons of apes and pigs” and cautioning that they are “a cancer which is liable to spread again at any moment.”

JIHAD KILLS GAYS

Just before the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Afghanistan’s Taliban regime punished two men convicted of homosexuality. The Taliban’s Islamic jurists had no doubt that death was the proper punishment. The only question was how to carry out the execution. One group of scholars believed that the homosexuals should be taken to the top of the highest building in the city, and hurled to their deaths. The other recommended that a pit be dug near a wall somewhere, the two men put in it, and the wall toppled so that they were buried alive. The jihad is not about American policy towards Israel or about israel’s policy towards the palestinians. Many, particularly on the American Left, believe that if the U.S. decreases its support for Israel, and if Israel surrenders further territory, jihad violence will cease. This is as naïve as it is untrue. The Muslim Brotherhood, for instance, the first modern Islamic terrorist organization and the direct ancestor of Hamas and Al-Qaeda, was founded in 1928 – twenty years before the founding of the State of Israel. Mahmoud Zahar, the Hamas Foreign Minister, says: “Even if the U.S. gave us all its money in return for recognizing Israel and giving up one inch of Palestine, we would never do so even if this costs us our lives.” The jihad is not the result of Islamists’ current grievances about Afghanistan, Iraq or other hotspots in the Middle East. The international media focus on conflict in Israel, Iraq and Afghanistan, but the jihad continues in a lower key and largely out of sight on a daily basis in places such as Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, Chechnya, the Balkans, and Nigeria, to say nothing of the “soft jihad“ being waged in Europe.

There is nowhere in the world where one can escape the jihad. Wherever Muslims are found, which is in almost every country on the planet, there are adherents of the ideology of jihad.

The jihad subverts democratic institutions.

Jihadis in Europe have been forthright about their intentions. In England, for instance, Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad, has said that the transformation of Britain into an Islamic state could come about by means of an “invasion [from] without.” But if this doesn’t happen, Bakri says that jihadis will convert the West to Islam “through ideological invasion …”

Book Review: Russia’s Islamic Threat by Gordon Hahn

RUSSIA’S ISLAMIC THREAT, Gordon M. Hahn, Yale University Press, New Haven and London, 2007, 368 pages, $35.00.

Russia’s Islamic Threat provides meticulously detailed research and analysis about Islamic separatism in Russia, focusing on two particular areas–the Sufi Islamic North Caucasus (with a special emphasis on Chechnya) and Tatarstan/Bashkortostan, where a jihad movement holds sway.

Hahn sees two types of Islamic separatism in the Russian Federation violent, radical rebellion, supported by a small percentage of the population in the North Caucasus, and a potentially broader-based and more moderate political movement for self-determination in the Tatar/Bashkortostan region. At the heart of both Islamic separatist movements lie strong nationalist sentiment, distrust of the Russian Government, and a poor (or worsening) economic outlook.

Hahn asserts that the policies of President Vladimir Putin’s regime have fueled Islamic separatism, whether in the radical hotbed of Islamic fundamentalism in the North Caucasus, or in more Russified, secular, and moderate Muslim Tatarstan. Another significant cause of discontent is Putin’s anti-federalist policies, which have given much more power to the Russian federal government at the expense of individual Russian states/regions.

The net effect is that Putin is dismantling the “asymmetrical fiscal federalism” established by President Boris Yeltsin that made some concessions to state/regional sovereignty and reduced inter-ethnic competition for resources in potentially unstable regions. According to Hahn, asymmetrical federalism was a key factor in limiting nationalist aspirations and radicalism.

Hahn is probably overly pessimistic about Russia’s future. Judgments such as “‘Russia remains a weak state,” “is becoming a failing state,” and “‘risks becoming a failed one” seem extreme, considering Russia’s economy is booming, its international influence is on the rise, and the North Caucasus has been relatively quiet in the last year.

Russia’s Islamic Threat is a must-read for any student of radical Islam in Russia/Central Asia. In addition to its main arguments, the work provides extensive lists of resources, notes, and events concerning Islamic separatism in the region. Hahn’s book will be of great interest to anyone studying Putin’s impact on the development of democracy in Russia. Many journalists and scholars have written about declining civil liberties in the Russian Federation, but Hahn looks at a lesser known facet of this policy–the destruction of Russian “asymmetrical federalism” and its repercussions.
